High Tech Luxury SUV

The Luxury SUV market can seem a bit crowded at times, but few stand out like the 2010 Acura MDX. And when we say fully loaded we mean this ride is fully loaded. We’re talking a spacious all-leather interior, voice-activated navigation, seats for seven and an entertainment system that’ll make you feel like you’re in the comfort of your own living room. Scratch that, this is better than your living room.

The latest MDX keeps innovation moving by one-upping the traditional backup camera that every car seems to be coming with. The multi-view rear camera gives you the standard reverse view, but also gives you a super wide angle view for escaping those tight parking lots unscathed, and a trailer hitch view for hooking up that boat in the summer time. Their Navigation and Communication Display system takes it to another level as well. Every morning you can get a tip of the day on the menu display to help you learn something new about this ride. And trust me, with a high-tech car like this, you’ll appreciate the help.

This Acura stays completely ready on the inside with Bluetooth HandsFreeLink wireless telephone interface, a premium sound system with AM/FM/XM Radio Tuner, 6-Disc in-dash CD player, MP3, WMA, 8 speaker surround sound, and a hard drive that can hold up to 20,000 songs, and even external USB port. Don’t forget it has a DVD player for the passengers in the back with wireless headsets to keep the kiddies entertained. All its missing is the kitchen sink.

Don’t think they slept on the engine either. The Acura MDX has a 3.7-liter, SOHC (Single overhead camshaft), V-6 engine with VTEC (Vairable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). It also comes with sequential sports shift 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and grade logic control, shift hold control, cornering G Shift control and Hill Start Assist. That means that this engine can go either automatic or manual transmission, depending on what kind of performance you are looking for.

It also comes with 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist which we definitely needed in the busy streets of Los Angeles. And you’ll love the Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) and torque sensing power assist rack and pinion steering. This makes the MDX handle more like a nimble sports car than some massive SUV. Acura rounded out the package with 18″ aluminum wheels, integrated dual exhuast, auto HID headlights and a sunroof. Luxury is right.

You don’t often hear the words Compact, Luxury, and S.U.V. in the same sentence. If you do, it’s a good bet they’re talking about the all-new 2010 Acura RDX.

This compact SUV has a turbocharged 240 hp 2.3-liter engine which gives it some surprising kick, while the slim size means you’ll always be able to find a parking spot without scraping your door on the car next to you. When the turbo kicks in, you’ll definitely know, but there’s also a boost gauge right built in next to your speedometer; you won’t see that come stock in too many cars.
