For most millennials, binge-watching was birthed from television shows like Pokemon. We joined the journey of Ash Brock and Misty as they set forth on a mission to catch Pokemon balls and become the greatest Pokemon trainers, ever.
This anime tv show might have died in the early 2000’s, but Android and iOS hopes to bring the Pokemon thrill back to life with the virtual app, PokemonGo. It’s been trending on our timeline for a couple days now and so it’s only fitting to answer some of the basic questions.
What is PokemonGo?
PokemonGo enables users to travel to cities and towns around them and catch as many species of Pokemon as they can. The gaming app allows you to use real-world location, which infuses the love of Pokemon with the reality of life.

Become the Ultimate Pokemon Trainer
As Ash, Brock and Misty accomplished, becoming the ultimate Pokemon trainer is no easy task! The more Pokemon you collect, the higher levels you’ll elevate towards becoming a trainer. Once you’ve hit a certain level, you are given the opportunity to join teams with other users around you to share strategies, secrets and most importantly, Pokemon pets.
Upgrade Your Play with Pokemon Plus
Pokemon Go even offers a wristband feature that, when worn, can monitor the presence of nearby Pokemon without having to be on your phone. This feature will notify when a particular Pokemon is nearby while also giving the user the chance to collect it as well. Look for this additional upgrade towards the end of July.
The PokemonGo trend seems to have nestled its way into the hearts of many of us young adults because of the nostalgia it brings from when we were young. This new app won’t be going anywhere anytime soon and hopefully can bring back some joy into the world. Happy Pokemon hunting!
