The Kingdom Of Tonga’s Coronation Festival Kicks Off With Music Show

While we celebrate July 4th with brews, burgers and fireworks in honor of our American flag, another honorable celebration will be taking place across the Pacific in the majestic archipelago of the Kingdom of Tonga!

The Kingdom of Tonga, the last remaining monarchy of the South Pacific, will be coronating the royal pair, King Tupou VI and Queen Nanisipau’u, as the new head of the country next month! Moments like this do not happen often so we can assume that the Tongan royal family have planned an agenda of celebratory activities for their entire country to partake in!

As for the entertainment, World Resources presents an all inclusive nationwide concert featuring some of the hottest names in the South Pacific! Hawaiian Music artist Siaosi will be headlining the show with Australia’s JKing, New Zealand’s Lomez Brown and Portland’s Loa Pole’o as featured artists. The crowning event of the show is a special guest appearance from Reggae Music Star J Boog. These artists are uber popular in Tonga and so the excitement will be felt in all the villages the night of!

TheWhatitDo’s very own L-Boogie (@isagirl) will be hosting the event as well! The concert, happening Monday June 29th, is an all ages event at Queen Salote Memorial Hall and the doors open at 7pm! And for the restless partygoer willing to pay a little more for a lot more fun, the celebrations will continue on Wednesday July 1st — the VIP boat party!
