You’ve probably heard the 20 year-old’s hit song this summer, “All About That Bass”, a fun, doo-wop meets pop song about loving yourself and being comfortable in the skin you’re in, a message many of us tend to forget. Trainor also released a music video for the song, which featured Tongan Vine celebrity Sione Maraschino doing his Maraschino step, and other trademark dance moves featured on his Vine account. It was a cute, colorful video that went perfectly to the song that everyone can’t get out of their heads.
While the song is catchy, Trainor proves she’s no one hit wonder with her EP Title that was released in the beginning of September. Trainor has a unique and vintage sound that will guarantee to keep her on the radar. With her talented voice, Trainor’s music will want to make you dance and sing along to all of her catchy tunes featured on Title. The EP is fun, catchy, and more importantly, different from everything else in the Pop world right now. My personal favorite from Title is “Dear Future Husband”, a song that vaguely sounds like something a girl group from the 1960’s would sing. If you like oldies, Trainor does a delightful job at putting a modern Pop and R&B twist to the genre. Since signing with Epic Records just earlier this year, her career is rapidly skyrocketing into success, and is definitely an artist to watch.
