Derek Jeter to Appear on the Tonight Show Oct. 2nd

Baseball fans stood in ovation and emotional chanting at the Yankee Stadium last week in support of a bittersweet moment for the New York team and organization. Derek Jeter gave his last salute and ended his legendary career with an electrifying game-winning hit against the rivaled Boston Red Sox. Twitter was also filled with emotional fans and celebrities alike posting their admiration for Jeter, and ending their tweets with the hashtag #RE2PECT. Jeter debuted in baseball in 1995 with the New York Yankees and since then has showcased incredible athleticism and loyalty to the blue and white jersey as well as the fans. Jeter retires as one of five players in baseball history to record 3,000 hits, 200 home runs and 300 stolen bases.

His journey as a faithful Yankee will be celebrated this Thursday night (Oct. 2) with comedy host Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show!
