Former X-Factor contestant Latasha Lee and her band the BlackTies are about to be very busy within the upcoming months. The soul singer has recently kicked off her touring season with a few local performances including one for a benefit show in her hometown of Austin, TX. Coming up in November will begin the Soul Tour, with the dates still to be determined.
If you are a fan of oldies, Motown, and soulful singers such as Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, or Etta James, you will definitely like Lee’s music, as she finds most of her inspiration from these legendary artists. Lee’s song Stuck In My Mind is a personal favorite song of mine, as her vocals shine with a catchy melody. If you take a look at her YouTube, it is filled with dozens of music videos and covers showing off her talent, including a beautiful cover of Elvis Preseley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love. With the talent of her band the BlackTies and the combination of her raspy, yet soothing voice, Lee creates a unique and old school soul sound, very similar to the late and equally talented Amy Winehouse.
Lee, who already has a strong Polynesian fan base, will also be touching down in Oahu for a special performance in Honolulu on October 10th. After touring is over, we can expect to hear more music from the rising star.
