The 1st Annual FobbNation Music Awards was held last weekend in Los Angeles, CA at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. Urban Islanders gathered from all over to celebrate and highlight music in the pacific islander community. It was the first time a music awards ceremony was composed to highlight urban island artists through out the United States. This was historical and The WhatItDo was there to be apart of a trailblazing event.
Hosted by Ena Da MC and BigBody Cisco, these two gentlemen kept us all entertained from the red carpet interviews to the actual show. There were many different music categories that allowed the public to vote for their favorite artist and a lot of great rappers and singers came out to support one another. It was a beautiful event from start to finish with positive vibes throughout the night.
FobbNation Entertainment owner Matapuna Eneliko comes from a family and heritage where serving the people and promoting goodness is what he is all about. Most people don’t know that when him and his team decided to produce the FMA’s, they knew that the task would be great and there would be a lot of challenges, but they felt it was necessary to elevate urban island music and highlight artists to where they are recognized by their own people. That’s exactly how it all panned out that night, and it was a joy to see a packed auditorium of polynesians coming to celebrate the accomplishments of the musicians nominated.
