Tahiti Fete 2012

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of San Jose’s Tahiti Fete. It’s one of the most anticipated tahitian dance competition showcases of the summer. Spectators travel far and near to watch the best Tahitian dance companies in the U.S. to compete.

Tahiti Fete’s creative mind behind the organization of such a colossal task is Pua Tokumoto. She has done an amazing job in keeping the Fete going for 20 years now. Her persistence and passion has exuded through her work and has created a platform for polynesian dancers to showcase a cultural art form where people can express themselves through dance.

The weekend begins on the 6th of July with the solo dance competitions at the San Jose Doubletree Hotel from 10am-6pm. The group competitions will begin on July 7th at San Jose State University’s Event Center. It will run until the 8th of July where the winners will be announced at the end of the day.

Tickets are $20.00 for adults and @16.00 for children and seniors (65+).
