The WhatItDo team was invited to do a review on one of the California Bay area’s premiere Japanese restaurant / Jazz clubs, Yoshi’s SF. In 1977, Yoshi’s originally opened a 25-seater restaurant in North Berkeley then upgraded to a massive spot in Jack London Square-Oakland, more suitable for its clientele. No doubt, it’s become one of the nation’s most favored destinations to dine and listen to some of the biggest names in music. In 2007, Yoshi’s expanded and opened another restaurant in the famous Fillmore District in San Francisco with a state-of-the-art designed club.

Check out how Yoshi’s restaurant atmosphere and the chefs get down in the kitchen and season their dishes in a food network style presentation. The crew was able to catch up with Executive Chef Shotaro Kamio and his sous chefs. They end the evening with live entertainment from Eddie Palmieri and The Salsa Orchestra in the Jazz Club section of Yoshi’s.
