In less than a year, Hawaiian Reggae band The Green has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting new Reggae artists from the U.S. The WhatItDo definitely took hold of their youth-infused modern roots Reggae sound when they were featured on the website back in March. Their self-titled debut album was named “Best Reggae Album” of 2010 by iTunes and hit Billboard’s 2010 Year-End Reggae Chart by selling over 20,000 copies and counting.

The band is following up with their sophomore album entitled Ways & Means, set to be released on October 25th on one of the leading Reggae labels – Easy Star Records. On Ways & Means the band also interjects doses of R&B, Soul, and Pop, making their sound accessible to fans outside of Reggae circles without diluting their roots. Though The Green is an important player in the new wave of homegrown Reggae artists, they stand out with their ability to play both classic roots and modern dancehall, their vocal harmonies recalling Reggae’s golden age, and their four distinct songwriting and singing voices. Their extensive U.S. tour kicked off last Friday at the Pure Aloha Festival in Las Vegas and will go cross country and end on November 23 at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, NY. The Green is excited to break out on a national level. Don’t miss them at a city near you! Pre-order your copy of Ways & Means today.
