Originally from the Carolinas, this Rock N’ Roll band has made its way to the West and embarking on a venture upward. The Public Trust is a band is surely raising eyebrows and peeking interests of Rock fans across the continent. Each band member brings a different flavor with some R & B and Classic Rock, which give them a real soulful kick with clean sound. “The music is hard and passionate. I want people to feel chills,” says, lead singer, Michael Rossi. They’re a little bit of John Legend, Maroon 5 and Bob Dylan all rolled up in one!
They played as a group without a name until the birth of an interesting concept. The group name, The Public Trust is exactly what it says. With terms and conditions, when artists begin to negotiate signing with someone, they become what the label wants them to be and not who they are. The Public Trust attempts a different approach. “You can’t get anywhere without the people. The people will always believe in you.” This band wants to be powered by the people and be a part of the music empire but still be given space for their own style and creative perspectives. Similar to the American Motto, “In God We Trust,” which ultimately meant that the American people will use money in good faith, The Public Trust is making a vow to the people, to give them voice through their music.
Currently on the Vans Warped Tour, they’re rockin on the biggest stage with bands like, There For Tomorrow. With immediate goals to get a record deal, they’re staying humble and hungry. According to Rossi, “It would be ideal to get an album contract to get us in to a studio.” Until that happens, these guys give 100% no matter what the situation. Challenges are sure to arise but they stay focused and are ready to take it to the next level.
Rossi has a tattoo on his arm that says, “ We Shall Overcome,” which is a message that inspires his attitude towards The Public Trust music. He’s a strong believer that “anyone can overcome struggle.” It doesn’t matter if your black or white, rich or poor or where your from, we all have something to overcome.” That’s where the bands motivation comes from, is the endless opportunities for better things with determination and passion. Rossi claims, “I want to rock the world! Win a Grammy! Fly to Shows! Do some collaborations! Heck, let’s get Lil’ Weezy with The Public Trust!”
These guys aren’t a bar band that plays locally and kicks it in someone’s garage. They are out there to make music and are pushing to the top. They are that feel good, do good type sound that will be in your ear. So, listen up because TRUST, they rock!
