The 16th annual Monterey Reggae Festival kicks off today(July 29th-July 31st) and through the weekend. This is the place to be this weekend for those lovers and fans of reggae music. This international genre has always been music that provokes emotions of peace, good feelings, joy, and most of all one love. The festival committee takes pride in their event and when speaking to the Media Director Patrice ward states,”The Monterey Bay Reggaefest is more than an event, it is a cultural celebration.” Music artists from all over the world come together for one weekend to keep it lit and share the irie love.
The event line up ranging from reggae music greats like Maxi Priest, Anthony B, Mycal Rose, Inner Circle, Wailing Souls and many more on lock through out the weekend. Not to mention our urban island music artists from Hawaii’s The Green to the legendary Fiji to bring the festive hits that will have the crowd grooving from side to side. Other urban island music groups that are included in the line up are the Hooliganz and Zhen. But the urban island artist that is dominating in the reggae music scene is Mr. Feel Good music none other than J Boog.
