It’s not easy for an upcoming Producer to make it, but when you roll in the same crew as Waka Flocka Flame, OJ Da Juiceman, Gucci Mane and the rest of Brick Squad Monopoly, you know you hot as an ATL summer! Well hot is an understatement when you’re talking about Brick Squad producer Sizzle aka SouthSide. AND just like his name, his music Sizzles too! We linked up with this southern-style music maker to learn more about him and tell you WhatItDo!

SouthSide grew up in the ATL listening to his father, Masaba Tyson, produce beats for Hip-Hop giants, Outkast. As a teenager, he was often in trouble and would hardly leave the house. He said, “My mom would always punish me and I’d stay home and that’s when I started to make beats.” SouthSide said it was when he was around “14-15 years old” when he realized beat-making was something he could take serious. He said, “It was either I did something with my life or I didn’t.” His path to become a producer would lead him a few years later to team up with Waka Flocka, become part of Brick Squad Monopoly 1017, and eventually work with Hip-Hop icons, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

SouthSide says the hardest thing as a music producer is “Going up against other artists that’s as hungry as I am…Competition get hard, all you gotta do is keep grindin. Don’t Stop!” He says the key to success is, “When it get hard, don’t quit! Just keep grindin!”

Southside boldly exclaims on the introduction of his latest mixtape: “Everybody just been showin’ me love because I’m a young n****, I’m a young n**** and I’m trynna do something with myself, man. And for you youngins who said you can’t do sh*t in this world, my n**** you can if you put your mind to it! Look at us, look at me, look at Lex, look at Waka! We known n*****, y’all n***** know us; y’all know us from the A! C’mon let’s do this sh*t…”

SouthSide has already accomplished more than most, but says that he continues to be inspired by “Waka Flocka and my whole Brick Squad Crew” and is showing no signs of slowing down! He says we can expect, “more beats, more music, we’ve started this Annual Beat Battle and ima’ just keep grindin!”

SouthSide’s hypnotic sound will get you hyped up and calm you down at the same time. He has the talent and the drive to keep doing bigger and better and he’s definitely Whatitdo! Watch for his latest mixtape, “It’s a SouthSide Track Vol. 2” to drop and stay up with all the latest news about him and his crew on and Follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
