Fall 2011/Holiday Collections – Fashion Market Week

Fashion 16 Jun 2011   »   by TheWhatItDo

With a final push before the upcoming Fall and Holiday seasons, designers and brands make their mark in Fashion Market Week (June 13-16) at the CMC in the hopes of infiltrating a few more retail shops and influencing our Fall/Holiday style trends. This week’s FOCUS Apparel and Accessories Show and TRANSIT Shoe Show certainly had some brands worth mentioning who are sure to show up in every woman’s closet. Forget the stress from not being able to choose from hundreds of apparel and shoe options; I’ve got you covered!

Everyone knows that before a woman has her own children, her shoes are practically her babies (lol no fo’ real). Case and point? Next to diamonds, shoes are a girl’s (second) best friend! Nothing puts an exclamation point on an outfit like eye-catching, jaw-dropping, gorgeous shoes. You wouldn’t believe the options that were available, but one thing’s certain – espadrilles, animal skin/print (especially snakeskin), vintage-inspired, and color-blocked shoes are what’s hot so be sure to strut one of those babies this Fall/Holiday season. Here are my WhatItDo Shoe Picks:

Reaction by Kenneth Cole – Caught Live Platform Wedge Shoe (I literally wanted to put ‘em on my feet as soon as I saw them. Absolutely love!)
– Air Row Shoe in deep plum and Fully Loaded Boot (Deep jewel tones are Holiday faves and you can never have one too many boots)
DansSaraWhite Tiger Boot
(Caution: This boot is intended only for women on the fast track in the fab lane)
Two Lips
– Fur Sure Boot (Best fur boot in the whole show. Available in August on
Adrienne Maloof for Charles Jourdan
– Imogen Shoe (From the show “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Adrienne Maloof, owner of The Palms in Las Vegas, really knows style and nailed it with this shoe line. I’m getting this shoe ASAP and in every color.)
Jessica Simpson
– Best array of bright, color-blocked shoes. I couldn’t just pick one!
Irregular Choice
– An irregular choice indeed. These shoes are fun, artsy, and playful and are made for a certain kind of woman in mind – that is, the quirky, spunky, walks-to-her-own-off-beat-drum  woman :).

FOCUS Apparel and Accessories Show

Zuur Jeans has great fit jeans for everyone of every size. I already know what you’re asking, “Up to what size?” Well, size 32! But they boast that they can and will make any size you want! Their Italian- and Japanese-imported denim is sure to make every stride comfortable and noticeable. Ximena Valero’s transformation fashion collection allows you to tie one item of clothing in a variety of ways adding versatility and practical functionality to your wardrobe – what every woman loves. Sweet Lola had the best jewelry and bling with very unique, over-the-top-sized pieces that are sure to step up any outfit as accessories should. Last but not least, Jill JoAnne had a plush, feels-like-buttah faux fur alligator print Trio set in Raisin and Kelp that will warm up and dress up your holiday wardrobe in an instant.

L.A. Fashion Market Week never fails to gather trendsetters and excite trend-seekers as well as promote, flaunt, and rock L.A. style to the fullest. Be sure to attend Fashion Market Week in August to be in the know for Holiday/Resort 2011 as well as Fashion Market Week in October for Spring 2012 so you can start the new year in style. Till next time, make it do WhatItDo!
